I love my newborn sessions; there’s nothing better than baby cuddles and capturing beautiful images of them being brand new. But what I love most is capturing the whirlwind of bringing your baby home and beginning this new chapter together. One day you will share these photos with your baby; what would they want to see? What they looked like as a baby? Sure. But seeing what you looked like back then and the details of their first-ever home that housed all your love in those first days together would mean much more.

As a mother with non-stop growing kids, who are staring down ‘teenager-dom’ as it quickly approaches, I often catch myself during my family photoshoots thinking back to when they were little. Those days in the thick of it with babies and toddlers, those long, intense days full of tears one minute and full of joy the next. Those were the days. I am a Cornwall based Family Photographer, and capturing your family during this whirlwind of love and chaos is my passion.
A mindful approach is what I encourage families to take during their sessions with me. To really unplug and soak in the moments together. Breathe in your babies and laugh with your toddlers. I know you feel it too, during your shoots. On days like this, we wish there was a pause button. These are the days that remind us that the hard times are worth it on days like this.
Without a shadow of a doubt, I, for one, have never regretted looking back at the photographs I have of my babies. Trying to recognise faces grown and times past. Isn’t it strange how quickly they go from this tiny little bundle to an actual person with thoughts, feelings, and personality?!
I have families from years ago who still deeply cherish the first family photographs they took with me. They are still hung proudly on the walls of their family home and those of their Grandparents. I urge you to take the time and investment not to let these times and moments pass you by without documenting them.
Sometimes life can get a little overwhelming, and days, weeks, months pass us by; and we realise that we didn’t take enough photos. We realise that the chubby cheeks and their baby teeth have disappeared; they have entered a new stage in life. It happens so fast before we are ready.

You are unique; there is no one else just like you. I firmly believe that you deserve to take up space in this big wide world; honestly, regardless of how you look or feel, your love is always worth capturing. I’d hate for you to look back and not have any photographs of yourself with your babies.
I have been there with the post-baby body, and believe me when I say your body is incredible for what it just did! No one expects you to “bounce back” our bodies change and evolve. You are amazing just the way you are. You owe it to yourself and your kids for them to have photographs of you. Most people, at some point, don’t like themselves in pictures. But I promise one day you’ll look back with kinder eyes and realise your beauty. I promise.
Not liking yourself in pictures might not be the issue here; like Louise, you might always be the photographer and never in the photo. I know I’m always the one with my camera out in my family.
In years to come if someone looked back at my family they’d be forgiven for thinking my husband was a single Dad If someone looked back at my family in years to come, they would likely think my husband was a single Dad to three with a dog and was just so lucky to have his own personal photographer following him around! I know I need to get in the photographs more myself and make a point of doing it when I can, but I’m so happy to provide this service for you.

A lifestyle photography family session is relaxed, fun and far removed from what we once knew to be family photos.
Photography has come a long way from awkwardly smiling and doing “fun” poses in front of a stark white backdrop.
Don’t get me wrong, studio photography has its place, and I love it for many reasons, but a session with me is not a photoshoot. Let me explain!
A session with me is time with your family. An evening put aside to be 100% present with each other. How often do you get to dress up and look your best, just for each other and go spend some time celebrating your family?
This is your time and your moment to soak each other up and connect, to really focus on each other. It’s simply my job to encourage and capture all your magic.
You will never be who you are now again, and your kids will never be so little. It’s a celebration of who you are at that moment.
Nothing is more important than the physical connection you share with your loved ones. Come with zero expectations and embrace the chaos. Sometimes, things don’t go entirely to plan. But that’s fine and all part of the fun. If you choose how to react in those situations and relax into the process, then magical things can happen.
All I ask is that you allow yourself to let go and have fun with your family. Run with them, twirl with them, comfort them, listen to them, laugh with them. Don’t get too caught up in the details. That’s my job! I’ll be encouraging you along, but the stars of the show are you, and you will direct the way they experience will go.
